OVERVIEW

Join us on Thursday, January 29th, 2026 for an Indigenous Engagement workshop designed for trainees to deepen their understanding of ethical research, healthcare equity, and Indigenous sovereignty in medical practice.

The day will begin with a ceremonial welcome, followed by sessions on the history and ongoing impacts of medical exploitation and harm, systemic healthcare inequities, and Indigenous approaches to medicine, ethics, and data sovereignty.

The agenda will include time for trainee working groups to discuss Indigenous ethics and rigour across their research. As part of the training we will be providing resources and information on programs at the University of Toronto available to you for better understanding of Indigenous voices and considerations into your research and projects. 

When: Thursday, January 29th, 9:30am – Wednesday, December 3rd, 10am-3:00pm, Lunch will be provided!
